The Problem

Why split bill apps create more friction than they solve

๐Ÿฆ

Apps assume you pay inside them

Most split bill apps expect you to pay through them. But in real life โ€” especially across Southeast Asia โ€” people pay via bank transfer or e-wallet. The app never knows, so the ledger never closes.

๐Ÿ’ฌ

"What's your account number?"

Every group dinner ends with someone typing out their bank details in a chat. The other person screenshots it, forgets it, and asks again next time.

โ“

Did they actually pay?

Someone says they sent the money. You can't easily verify. The split bill app still shows unpaid. The debt becomes ambiguous and awkward.

How it works

Three steps. That's it.

01

Scan the receipt

Point your camera at any receipt. Tucope reads the items and amounts. Select who ordered what, or split evenly across the group.

02

Everyone pays via their preferred method

Each person's bank account and e-wallet details are attached to their Tucope profile. Payees see exactly where to send money โ€” no asking, no copying account numbers in a chat.

03

Attach proof, close the loop

The payer uploads their transfer confirmation screenshot. The record updates. Unpaid becomes Paid. The ambiguity is gone permanently.

Everything included

Built to actually work

Every detail designed for the way your brain actually works โ€” not the way apps assume it should.

๐Ÿ“ธ

Receipt scanning

Scan any physical receipt. Items and amounts are read automatically.

๐Ÿงฎ

Split by item or evenly

Assign specific items to each person, or split the total equally across the group.

๐Ÿฆ

Real-world payments

Bank transfers and e-wallets. No in-app payment processing โ€” people pay how they actually pay.

๐Ÿ‘ค

Payment details on profile

BCA, GoPay, and other methods attached to each user's profile. Always one tap away.

๐Ÿงพ

Payment proof

Payers attach transfer confirmation. The record updates from Unpaid to Paid with evidence.

๐Ÿ”—

Links to debt tracking

Unpaid bill shares flow automatically into the debt settlement tracker. Nothing falls through the gaps.

FAQ

Common questions

Does Tucope process payments in-app?

No โ€” and that's intentional. Tucope helps you track and coordinate split bills, but payments are made via your existing bank transfer or e-wallet (like GoPay, BCA, etc.). This is how people actually pay in Southeast Asia and most of the world.

What e-wallets and banks are supported?

Users can attach their own bank account details and e-wallet handles to their profile. Currently BCA and GoPay are featured, with more being added. Since users self-enter their details, any bank or e-wallet can effectively be used.

How does receipt scanning work?

You scan or photograph a physical receipt. Tucope reads the items and amounts. You then assign items to each person in the split, or choose to divide the total evenly.

What happens if someone marks a bill as paid?

When a payer attaches payment proof (a screenshot of their transfer confirmation), the record updates from Unpaid to Paid. The outstanding debt in the friend ledger also updates accordingly.
